Dr. Ann Smith graduated from the University Dental Hospital Manchester in 2011. After completing her dental vocational training in Salford, Ann obtained hospital training in the University Hospital South Manchester. Here she gained invaluable experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery, emergency dental treatment and Head and Neck oncology. She was awarded Membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgery by the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 2012. Following this, she gained additional hospital training in the Royal Preston Hospital and Manchester Dental Hospital in Oral medicine, Oral surgery and children’s dentistry.
In 2014, Ann furthered her studies, achieving a much sought after position on the National Orthodontic Training programme in the U.K. She gained her specialist orthodontic training from the prestigious King’s College London, working with leading consultants in Orthodontics. She achieved a Masters in Orthodontic Research and Membership in Orthodontics from the distinguished Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2017. This allowed her to register as a Specialist Orthodontist in the U.K. and Ireland. Ann attends national and international courses to keep her skills up to date and is a member of the Orthodontic Society of Ireland.
Ann is originally from Cootehill and is delighted to be back home. As a specialist orthodontist, Ann’s drive and motivation have always been to help people achieve the smile they’ve always wanted. She feels very privileged to be involved in giving people the confidence to smile.
Outside of orthodontics, Ann enjoys cooking, interior design, keeping fit and reading.
